Resurrection verses and notes

In the natural , apart from the hope of life after death , Solomon realized the futility of this life and despaired . ( See also Ecc. 4.11 , 2.16 , 6.12 , 8.8 , 9.45 )

Ecc. 1.11 There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow.

Ecc 3.19 As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath [b] ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

Ecc 12.6 Then man goes to his eternal home and mourners go about the streets. ........

7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

8 "Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. [a] "Everything is meaningless!"

 In the Old testament time the concept of resurrection was still not fully revealed ,but there was some understanding .

 Job chapt .19 .... 25 I know that my Redeemer [c] lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. [d] 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet [e] in [f] my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes-I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Ezekiels vision of the dry bones ,Chapt. 37 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' "

 In the new testament Christ reveals that he is the resurrection personified and calls the dead back to life . ( Jn.11.25 )

 John 5.28"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out-those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 3

 Luke 20.35But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.

 The Apostles preached about the bodily resurrection of Christ and humanity as part of the gospel. Acts 1.22 , 4.33, 17.18

 Acts 24. 14However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, 15and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

 ...... 21unless it was this one thing I shouted as I stood in their presence: 'It is concerning the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.' "

1St Corinth. 15. whole chapter ,and 42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

............. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we[f] bear the likeness of the man from heaven.
